About
Ms.Wood's Cosmic Corner

Hi, I’m Danielle Wood, a science and math educator with over 10 years of classroom experience. I’ve spent the last decade helping students explore the world through hands-on learning, inquiry-based instruction, and a whole lot of curiosity. I believe that science is something students should do, not just memorize—and I’ve built my teaching style around that idea.

Like many teachers, I found that students were entering the new Earth Science Regents exam underprepared—especially as expectations shifted with the NYSSLS and NGSS standards. I saw a real need for resources that are both engaging and standards-aligned, and that’s what led me to create Ms. Wood’s Cosmic Corner.

This site is my way of sharing what works: interactive labs, cluster-style assessments, digital escape rooms, and activities that bring Earth and Space Science to life. Whether you're just starting out or looking for fresh ideas, I hope you’ll find tools here that support your students and spark their love of science—just like they’ve done in my own classroom.

Let’s help students explore the cosmos—one activity at a time.
